Make Good Habits: The Habit of Witnessing

Witnessing = The spreading of the gospel of Jesus Christ with the goal of converting the listener.

When witnessing, there are usually 3 different ways that occurs: you actively pursue the unsaved, they seek you, or they see how you live.

…but in your hearts honor Christ the Lord as holy, always being prepared to make a defense to anyone who asks you for a reason for the hope that is in you; yet do it with gentleness and respect…

Acts 1:8 (ESV)

“But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth.”

So how do we become good witnesses?

• By the way you live and act as you learn how to witness.
  • What keeps us from witnessing?
    • Fear of persecution
    • Fear that people will not like us
    • Fear that there is not enough time
    • Fear that we don’t know how
• By spending time with God.
• By showing up for court.
• By being prepared.
• By telling others what the Lord has done for you.

A witness simply tells what happened. You can do the same today. Tell your story!
