We are commanded to love God with all our heart, soul, mind, and strength, and to love our neighbors as ourselves.
I believe if we get better at loving ourselves, with the same love that God has for us, we will see a difference in our relationships.
This morning, I will share six ways for getting better at loving yourself.

SERMON TEXT
1 Corinthians 13:1-6 (ESV)
If I speak in the tongues of men and of angels, but have not love, I am a noisy gong or a clanging cymbal. And if I have prophetic powers, and understand all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have all faith, so as to remove mountains, but have not love, I am nothing. If I give away all I have, and if I deliver up my body to be burned, but have not love, I gain nothing.
Love is patient and kind; love does not envy or boast; it is not arrogant or rude. It does not insist on its own way; it is not irritable or resentful; it does not rejoice at wrongdoing, but rejoices with the truth.
SERMON NOTES
To love yourself, you must:
-
- Plunge the depths of the Father’s love
- Push through insecurity
- Accept that loving yourself is essential, not selfish
- Go back in order to move forward
- Use 1 Corinthians 13 as a template
- Let God’s approval become your validation
Be encouraged by the words in Jeremiah 31:3, “I have loved you with an everlasting love; therefore, I have continued my faithfulness to you.”
Love yourself… so you can love others… so you can love God.
