Last week, we began our series Entrusted on The Parable of the Talents, and we started with this foundational truth:
Everything you have is from God. And He didn’t just give it to you—He entrusted it to you.

SERMON TEXT
Matthew 25:14-18 (ESV)
“For it will be like a man going on a journey, who called his servants and entrusted to them his property. To one he gave five talents, to another two, to another one, to each according to his ability. Then he went away. He who had received the five talents went at once and traded with them, and he made five talents more. So also he who had the two talents made two talents more. But he who had received the one talent went and dug in the ground and hid his master’s money.
Romans 12:6-8 (ESV)
Having gifts that differ according to the grace given to us, let us use them: if prophecy, in proportion to our faith; if service, in our serving; the one who teaches, in his teaching; the one who exhorts, in his exhortation; the one who contributes, in generosity; the one who leads, with zeal; the one who does acts of mercy, with cheerfulness.
SERMON NOTES
Questions for consideration
- Why does God entrust us differently?
- What do we do when we feel like what we’ve been given isn’t enough?
- How do we respond when fear tempts us to bury what’s in our hands?
God entrusts us with what we are ready for
- What you do with what you have reveals who you trust
- Your faithfulness isn’t measured by what you have, but by what you do with it
- God desires faithfulness…He’s calling you to be faithful
This week take inventory of what you’ve been entrusted with…
And ask yourself:
Am I burying it or am I building the Kingdom with it?
