Being Rooted: Trust God Where You Are Planted

This morning, we are going to wrap up this series of messages on being Rooted.

You can trust God where you are planted. He has you where you are for a purpose on purpose, and He doesn’t make mistakes.

But there are times when we question, “Why are we in this season?”

SERMON TEXT

Jeremiah 17:7-8 (ESV)

“Blessed is the man who trusts in the Lord,
    whose trust is the Lord.
He is like a tree planted by water,
    that sends out its roots by the stream,
and does not fear when heat comes,
    for its leaves remain green,
and is not anxious in the year of drought,
    for it does not cease to bear fruit.”

Jeremiah 29:4-7 (ESV)

“Thus says the Lord of hosts, the God of Israel, to all the exiles whom I have sent into exile from Jerusalem to Babylon: Build houses and live in them; plant gardens and eat their produce. Take wives and have sons and daughters; take wives for your sons, and give your daughters in marriage, that they may bear sons and daughters; multiply there, and do not decrease. But seek the welfare of the city where I have sent you into exile, and pray to the Lord on its behalf, for in its welfare you will find your welfare.

SERMON NOTES

We question the designer, but know-

• • He is moving you and growing you
  • He has planted you
  • He is developing you
  • He is increasing your dependence upon Him
  • He is preparing you

So don’t be uprooted, continue where God has placed you

• • Be content
  • Be fulfilled
  • Be obedient
  • Be blooming

We must remember, however, that all of those bad things… are the dirt… Which becomes the fertile soil… in which God wants us to grow and blossom.

Therefore, we need to choose to be content right where we are and choose to serve the Lord where we are.
