After a seed is planted, we expect it to grow. For it to grow, the right agents must be in place. As we look at our growth and development as believers, certain things are necessary if we are to produce much fruit.

SERMON TEXT
1 Corinthians 3:5-9 (ESV)
What then is Apollos? What is Paul? Servants through whom you believed, as the Lord assigned to each. I planted, Apollos watered, but God gave the growth. So neither he who plants nor he who waters is anything, but only God who gives the growth. He who plants and he who waters are one, and each will receive his wages according to his labor. For we are God’s fellow workers. You are God’s field, God’s building.
SERMON NOTES
GROW
God is the Master Architect of growth.
-
- Spiritual growth is not by human hands.
We are God’s field.
-
- Growth is not an option.
- Growth needs the right environment.
PRUNE
As we relate to the vine, we are either:
-
- Unfruitful or Fruitful
- Unattached or Attached
God uses the art of Elimination and Cultivation to bring growth
-
- Less can be more
A healthy connection to the vine will produce good fruit
Pruning comes by the Word of God
Are you attached to the vine this morning? Are you receiving the nourishment and life offered by Christ? If not, you are missing the key to living the Christian life.
