Updated 11/27/25
Welcome!
We are excited to welcome your family to North Oak KIDCARE. Our Before & After School and Camp Programs are designed to give your child a quality and safe environment 5 days a week when they are not in school.
SCHOOL YEAR KIDCARE
Citrus Springs Elementary School KidCare is open throughout the school year from 7-9 AM and from 4-6 PM. We will be open on some full-day school holidays and school breaks, dependent on registration with a minimum of 10 students to enable us to staff those days properly. Additional charges will apply. Bus/van transportation is provided to and from Citrus Springs Elementary School. Includes outdoor recreation, indoor games, a homework room, and provided breakfast & afternoon snack.
SUMMER CAMP
A full weekday summer camp is open from 7 AM until 6 PM. Field trips, crafts, recreation, water days, Bible time, and more are offered through the summer. Free breakfast and snacks provided.
KidCare is a ministry of North Oak Church and is licensed by the FCCPSA (Florida Coalition of Christian Private Schools Accreditation).
All workers are background screened and fingerprinted.
North Oak KidCare accepts all children regardless of race, gender, or church affiliation. Please check with us regarding any emotional or mental disabilities, as we are not licensed as a mental health facility.
Financial assistance is available. Debit or Credit Card required and will be charged on the Friday before the week of service. No partial weeks are available.

NEXT STEPS
REVIEW OUR FEE SCHEDULE
Review our fee schedule for KidCare and Summer Camp. You’ll also be able to complete your Payment Authorization form to set up your payments for child care.
SUBMIT PRE-REGISTRATION
After reviewing the Parent Manual below, you can pre-register your child for KidCare or Summer Camp with the form below. If you’d like to schedule a visit, call 352-220-0350.
THE PARENT MANUAL
Please review the Parent Manual in full prior to registering.
COMMUNICATION
We need to have ongoing communication with parents and guardians. A valid email address must be on file, as well as phone numbers that are answered regularly. It is our expectation that we be able to communicate with parents/guardians through email/text if at all possible.
QuikKast
There is a program we use to send information to your email and/or text to your phone. You are responsible for checking for these messages regularly and responding if asked for a response.
Messages
There is a basket at the Welcome Desk that should be checked every day. An envelope with the family name will have a colored flag on it if there is a message for you. If there is a behavior report or injury form in your envelope, it must be read and signed by you or an authorized person.
Bulletin Boards
There is a bulletin board to your left as you enter on which additional information is located. Please check it every day.
Communicating With Us
We take the safety of your child very seriously. We need to know if your child is not going to be in attendance or if you have picked them up early from school. You can call the church office or text Kathie Stewart at 352-220-0350. That way, we are sure of who is supposed to be on the bus and can make sure every child is where they are supposed to be.
SIGNING IN AND OUT
A Parent or Approved Guardian must sign each child in and out each day. Only those approved may pick up a child. A photo ID is required.
Because staff will have to remain after hours, parents/guardians who fail to pick up their child by 6 PM will be charged an additional $1.00 for every minute they are late. This must be paid before the next week of service.
TRANSPORTATION
During the school year, a Citrus County School bus stop is located at the N. Elkcam Blvd. entrance to the North Oak property. Students are taken to the bus stop and picked up from the bus stop by a KidCare staff person and escorted to the KidZone building.
FOOD
A cereal and fruit breakfast is offered in the morning, and children will be given a snack and drink when coming in the afternoon. Sweets and candy are reserved for special occasions. Please do not send them with your child.
On full school holidays and DURING CAMP, a lunch must be provided. There is no microwave use so please do not send items that need to be warmed up. Please make sure that items in your child’s lunch can be easily opened by the child.
ALL PERSONAL ITEMS MUST HAVE THE CHILD’S NAME ON THE OUTSIDE FOR EASY IDENTIFICATION. KIDCARE WILL NOT BE RESPONSIBLE FOR THESE ITEMS.
DISCIPLINE
It is our desire to have an ongoing encouraging relationship with all students who attend our program. However, should disciplinary measures be required, we will implement the following guidelines:
- Redirection. Should a problem occur, our first action would be to redirect the child and discuss the undesirable behavior.
- Time-out and written sentences will be the next course of action.
- Should the behavior continue, the child will meet with the Administrator or Director and a parent/guardian contacted.
- The child may be suspended from the program should the behavior continue for up to three days depending on the severity of the infraction.
- As a last resort, a child may be expelled from the program. There will be no refund of fees.
If your child has an IEP (Individualized Education Plan) from school, we must have a copy of it on file so we can better deal with issues that may come up.
It is our expectation that you will take disciplinary matters seriously and support us with your child. There may be some things we implement that are different than what you do at home but are necessary when dealing with a large group of children. Should you have a difficulty that staff cannot handle, you are welcome to contact Kathie Stewart or Pastor Kyle Ellis.
MEDICATION PROCEDURES
Medications must be listed on the parent-signed medication sheet, including prescription name, dosage, time to be given, and in the original bottle.
ACCIDENT AND INJURY POLICIES
Our staff is trained in basic first aid and can apply bandages, treat minor cuts, ice bruises, and use anti-itch medication on bites or stings on site. A report is given to a parent/guardian for each instance.
Should we feel an injury needs a doctor or emergency room visit, the parent/guardian on file will be contacted to make decisions on how we are to proceed. Should the parent/guardian not be available, 911 will be called for broken bones, allergic reactions to bites, stings or food that cause difficulty in breathing, dilation of pupils or difficulty keeping a child awake after a head injury, and anything that would cause a child to become unconscious.
SICKNESS PROCEDURE
Should a child develop a fever, an unexplained rash, diarrhea, or vomits while in our care, they will be isolated from other children and a parent/guardian called. You should have an emergency plan that will allow your child to be picked up immediately.
PAYMENT PROCESS
A credit card or debit card must be on file and payments are charged the Friday before the week of service. This is a 5-Day a Week program and there is no refund for partial attendance.
EARLY DISMISSAL DAYS
An additional $15 is charged for Early Dismissal Days for After-School students.
SCHOOL HOLIDAYS
There is a ten child minimum for KidCare to be open on a School Holiday. The additional charge is $30.
SCHOOL BREAKS
When school is out for more than one day at a time, we will offer a CAMP WEEK with hours from 7 AM – 6 PM for those days. There will be a sign-up sheet specifying the days available.
AWANA CLUBS FOR KIDS
On Wednesdays during the school year, North Oak Church offers AWANA Clubs. Kids can go right from KidCare into AWANA. Supper is provided and after an evening of Bibles, games, activities and awards, they can be picked up at 7:30 PM.
ELECTRONIC GUIDELINES
Children who bring electronics, cell phones, tablets, etc., will only be allowed to use them to complete homework or, on full days, for 30 minutes a day between 5 and 6 PM. Each item should have the child’s name and parent phone number on them. North Oak KidCare will not be responsible for damage or loss of any personal items and reserves the right to remove such items should they cause a disturbance of any kind. Those items will be returned to the parent/guardian at pick-up time.
The KidCare Pledge
I will have respect for adults, for others and for myself.
I will not argue or pout if I don’t get my own way.
If I have a problem, I will go to an adult.
I will treat others as I want to be treated.
Jesus said, “Love the Lord, Your God with all your heart, all your soul, and all your mind.
And love your neighbor the same as you love yourself.” Matthew 22:37, 39b
