Better Witness

Today, we are going to wrap up our sermon series, Better. Over the past weeks, we looked at making better priorities, better relationships, and better choices… 

…And when we do that, we can be better witnesses.

SERMON TEXT

1 Peter 3:15-16 (ESV)

but in your hearts honor Christ the Lord as holy, always being prepared to make a defense to anyone who asks you for a reason for the hope that is in you; yet do it with gentleness and respect, having a good conscience, so that, when you are slandered, those who revile your good behavior in Christ may be put to shame.

A Witness – Defined

• The fundamental job of a Christian is to be a witness (Acts 1:8)
  • We have been empowered
  • We are to go everywhere
  • We are to give evidence
• You are the light of the world
  • To illuminate the darkness
  • To light the way for others.
• So, don’t be ashamed, embarrassed, or timid.
• What keeps us from sharing the good news?
  • Fear of rejection
  • Fear of persecution
  • Fear of people
  • Not enough time
  • Don’t know how

The power of God is with us to strengthen us and give us the words to share the good news of Jesus with those He brings across our path.

So, you can be a better witness!
